Lothian Back the Bid

lothianlogo

Lothian Buses are a very high quality municipal operator based in Edinburgh, Scotland using a professional livery of madder and white for all their buses. Most vehicles wear this standard livery (shown by SN55 BMO) except a handful of vehicles such as this Volvo B9TL / Wright Eclipse Gemini 2 No’ 382 SN11 EDJ which wears an eye-catching all-over wrap-around advertisement for the National Performance Centre of Sports. The concept was that it will provide the region’s best sportsmen and women with the facilities and support services necessary for successful performances on the International stage, as well as a new multi-sport performance centre including a site for a new National Football Academy. The slogan simply says ‘Help us bring the National Performance Centre for Sport home for Edinburgh in 2016’. The Scottish Government has committed £25 million for the project and various organisations were invited to bid to host and operate the NPCS. Dundee City, Stirling University and Council, Heriot-Watt University and City of Edinburgh Council have been shortlisted following successful completion of stage one after the bid was eventually won, this vehicle then returned back to standard livery of madder and white in early 2014. This is the livery shown below:
