First Glasgow the…one


First Glasgow mainly run services in Greater Glasgow and Lanarkshire areas of Strathclyde, the subsidiary was one of the first bus operators to introduce an “overground”, a colour-coded set of bus routes with route branding on the bus exteriors and timetables, despite this however all route branding had been removed from buses in 2006 but remained on timetables until mid 2008. Although in May 2013 the company introduced a new network in Glasgow called SIMPLICITY and also branded a few more of there longer routes, including the 1/1A/1B/1C/1E network which was branded as the…one. The services operate between Glasgow and outer suburbs such as Balloch, Helensburgh and Drumchapel. All the routes run alongside each other from Glasgow until Scotstoun combining every 6 minutes (previously every 5) before branching out to various different routes. Services 1/1A/1B/1C operate all day, whereas the 1E is early mornings only and is an express between Balloch and Glasgow. The services uses a batch of ’62 plate Alexander-Dennis Enviro 300’s which sport e-leather Civic Esteban V3 seats and are painted in the First ‘Olympia’ version of the livery with small brandings applied advertising the services they operate. 67719 SN62 AEA operates a 1A service in the Balloch direction.
