New Creative Commons License

With recent and continued copyright infringement I have decided to take the matters further by obtaining an official Creative Commons License.

The Creative Commons License protects work by enabling the creator of the work to be continually acknowledged. In my case, it means that when I create paperbuses for this Blog I can continue to be acknowledged as the creator of the paperbus net.

My license is the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Unported License which basically means that:

You are free:

  • to Share — to copy, distribute and transmit the work

Under the following conditions:

  • Attribution — You must attribute the work in the manner specified by the author or licensor (but not in any way that suggests that they endorse you or your use of the work).
  • Noncommercial — You may not use this work for commercial purposes.
  • No Derivative Works — You may not alter, transform, or build upon this work.

With the understanding that:

  • Waiver — Any of the above conditions can be waived if you get permission from the copyright holder.
  • Public Domain — Where the work or any of its elements is in the public domain under applicable law, that status is in no way affected by the license.
  • Other Rights — In no way are any of the following rights affected by the license:
    • Your fair dealing or fair use rights, or other applicable copyright exceptions and limitations;
    • The author’s moral rights;
    • Rights other persons may have either in the work itself or in how the work is used, such as publicity or privacy rights.
  • Notice — For any reuse or distribution, you must make clear to others the license terms of this work. The best way to do this is with a link to this web page.

(Information from Creative Commons)

Therefore, it is in everyone’s interest to ensure that all of these are followed correctly and the copyright infringement should therefore stop.

For more information on Creative Commons Licenses in general please visit the About page.

A full Legal Code of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Unported License can be found here.

___________________________________________________________

In accordance with this change, each net will carry a distinctive logo explaining how my work is under the strictest Creative Commons License Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Unported.

Furthermore, this will be added to the Copyright Page which can be accessed through the About Us page at the top of the Blog or at this link.

  1. that’s a great idea to stop people using your great work!

  2. To IJTravel2711,

Yes it is, I decided to use it because of recent issues as there is no other way of stopping it other than protecting them under the strictest Creative Commons License.

  3. so what will happen if people still use them, what will it do??

  4. To IJTravel2711,

They will be going against the regulations under my work and would therefore have to remove it immediately.

  5. To Keiron

  6. To IJTravel2711,

Yes copyright infringement was really getting to me so I decided to take action. If people want to copy my nets I can do them privately as I only do it as hobby anyway.

  8. To IJTravel2711,

Thanks, yes thats the procedure but always has been. I always make my own nets if I don’t have them now anyway.

  9. oh right that’s cool

  10. Definately A Great Idea To Stop People Using Your Work! Mine Is Done Privately As I Don’t Have A Website And I’m Not Inteding To Get One Soon Either.Your Nets Are Good So I Would Hate It If You Stopped Doing Them! Please Keep Up The Good Work And NO MORE COPYRIGHT OFFENDERS VISITING THIS SITE HOPEFULLY!!!!!

  11. That’s i have to agree is a very good idea to stop people using your great paper buses. I know how it anoying it is for paper buses to be stolen as i have had it happen to my nets on more than a few occasions. I dont want to appear to be copying your idea but i have just taken out a similar license to ‘try’ and protect my work.

  12. To Dan and West Yorkshire Bus Photos,

Thats perfectly fine and yes the culprit appears to have stopped uploading my nets so the new License has worked. Yes, thats fine for you to get you’re own license since it protects you’re work.
